Cristina Álvarez holds a master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a PDD from IESE. She has more than 25 years of experience in executive positions in multinationals in the technology and financial sector, such as Vodafone, Telefónica, and now Santander, always trying to turn technology into a strategic asset that generates business value. In addition to her executive functions, she is a director in several entities within and outside the Santander Group. She is married, has three children, and is a strong advocate of the importance of promoting the role of women in technology and inclusive leadership as a lever to improve business results.
